Antique Silver price soars

Antique silver prices continue to soar despite the continued gloom about recession. At Wolley & Wallis's January Sale a pair of silver gilt waiters sold for a massive £36,000 against an estimate of £15000. They did have unique history associated with them in that they were made by William Burwash especially for a gentleman named William Beckford of Fonthill Old Abbey. These waiters hallmarked for 1817 were only 7 inches in diameter and were inscribed with the Beckford Crest. With this history they quickly sold at twice the catalogue estimate. Antique Silver continues to be a remarkable safe haven for your investments as well as being a joy to own.
